Effective date: June 13, 2026
We collect nothing. We transmit nothing. Everything happens on your device.
Double-Click Dictionary shows definitions for words you double-click on web pages. The complete dictionary (derived from Princeton University's WordNet® 3.1) is bundled inside the extension package. Lookups are performed entirely on your computer.
The extension does not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal data, browsing history, or the words you look up. It makes no network requests of any kind: no analytics, no telemetry, no remote servers, no accounts.
Your preferences (whether the extension is enabled and which trigger you chose) are saved using
Chrome's built-in storage.sync area. This data stays inside your browser profile and,
if you are signed into Chrome, is synced between your devices by Google under
Google's privacy policy. We have no access to it.
The extension requests the minimum it needs: access to pages so it can react to your double-click
and draw the definition popup (processed locally), and storage for the settings above.
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
